Sly has been regarded as a "master in watercolor" since the young age of 18. Pigment in water is a favorite of Sly as his works appeared in galleries and collections including reputable private collections, one man shows and museum exhibits.

"Watercolor is one of the most raw and primitive mediums for an artist as it expresses both the technique and emotional path unveiled from within the artist's soul: through the brush and arrives truthfully upon the paper.
There is no masking an artists frozen moments when viewing this type of work."

Sly's watercolor work can be sometimes intentionally rough and sometimes photo-realistic depending on the subject matter.
