Commissioned by First Soutwest Company 1999.
First Southwest Company commissioned a series of 5 paintings for first impressions of their corporate offices in various states around the country including Orlando, Houston, Washington, and Rhode Island - "Orlando" featured here.
"As I contemplated the challenge of representing the look and feel of a leading financial corporation, I considered the viewers of the paintings. I considered that the audience would be highly analytical individuals that lean toward a taste for structure and numbers, as this was the focus of this corporation.
My art was also intended to offer an aesthetic "escapism" to the viewer, without taking the focus away from the pride of the brand.
The challenge of these two primary considerations were joined in this series of paintings in which the CEO, employees and designers were thrilled in its convergence represented here."
